Re: Cassette deck is stuck on FF

About all you can do is take it out of the dash and pull the case apart, and try to see what's jammed.

Not really worth the effort for most folks.

I have a cassette factory unit I'd give you, but it's outta a '97 and has SCV, I doubt it's compatible.

Time to upgrade to CD, would be my suggestion. Best Buy and other places like that sell adapter kits for about $10 that allow you to connect any aftermarket unit directly to your factory wiring very easy.

Re: Cassette deck is stuck on FF

Hmmmm. Thats probably my best bet i guess. If i do rip it out of my dash its not going back in it just that easy. I probably buy a nice CD/Mp3/radio unit for cheap some where.

Thanks!

Re: Cassette deck is stuck on FF

Hmmmm. Now im wondering how cheap i can get a CD deck for? My buddy has a used subaru one that he is not use anymore but, i dunno if it would work in a GM? My question is can I use some other manufactures OEM stereo deck in my 93 Chevy Lumina?

Thanks!!!

Between trying to get the wiring to match and trying to fab some way to make it fit in the dash, I don't see it being worth the effort.

You should be able to get a good CD head unit for less than $150 installed at Best Buy or similar stores.

Here's an auction for a direct fit unit for yours ending in twelve hours. Looks like it's gonna go for cheap. Good luck!
