Weird high idle

so I have a 95 beretta that is in decent condition. It has about 184,000K on it and havent had any problems until now. I changed the spark plugs and wires and now it idles really high, i have problems accelerating and i smell gas. The intake manifold is not broken but needs to be replaced soon...not sure if that makes a difference. Also, as im accelerating i can hear a clunk noise coming from the drivers side. I have a hard time getting it to go 65mph and when i push it, it starts to shake excessively. any suggestions?

Re: Weird high idle

check for any disconnected vacuum hose(s) that you may have accidentally knocked loose when changing the plugs and wires.

I would find the source of the gas smell first. That stuff can catch on fire fairly easily, which is bad when it's outside the engine.

The gas smell may be from the evap canister (under the coolant reservoir)
