Hello everyone,

On my way home tonight I noticed that whenever I took my foot off the accelerator my 2001 Clio would make what can only be described as a loud rubbing noise, as if something was caught.

I have had a look underneath the car and under the bonnet but can find nothing out of the ordinary.

The noise is really prominent the faster the car is going. There seems to be nothing wrong with the car except this noise, no warning lights, oil and radiator are filled up.

Does anyone have any idea what the noise is, what needs to be done to fix it? All help is much appreciated.

I've got the same noise in my clio 1.2 2000 mod. It firs appeared when I took the foot of the accellerator, but now it is like inbetween accellerating and decelleration. My mechanic is only scratching his head. If you ever find the cause I would very much appreciate a reply on what was the cause.
