tires?xracer1 09-17-2007, 12:35 PM I'm going to need a new set of tires for my 99 ext cab silverado soon. I have Firestones on it now[255x16] and they have about 36000 on them. the orginal tires were Generals and lasted for 60000mi. Anybody have any recommendation's ? I want to stay with the orginal size. knogoodidleft 09-17-2007, 12:56 PM I also have the standard general, and they work great for me, but i dont like them for rain, zero traction, and i live in Flordia :( silverado122775 09-17-2007, 01:47 PM Go with BFG's! You will never be happier! 265/75/16's or 245/75/16's Those are stock size for that truck unless you have the 2wd. I have got over 60K on mine.. great for rain, dirt, pavement. One of the garages I used to work at had a tire shop attached to it and we sold a lot of B F Goodrich tires for pickups. rjeffery 09-17-2007, 04:11 PM X3 for the BFG ATs. I have 265/75/16s on my 2wd bigbadram51 09-17-2007, 07:57 PM I tried Toyo Open Country A/T's and will never go back... Quiet, great on all types of surfaces and long lasting. 45k+ kklagge 09-20-2007, 07:30 AM I also have the BFG AT/ko's 285/75/16s on my 4X4...been rotating them every 3000...currently have 86K on them and still have another 10K-12K left on the tread...the more often you rotate these babies the longer they will last Evansamms 09-20-2007, 09:53 AM Don't know from personal experience, but have you seen teh new Kumho Road Venture MT KL71? wicked lookin tread, and I've got a buddy that says they're great, he's got almost 60k on em, and theres lots of life left. Quiet tire too, if you're looking for that agressive look. silverado122775 09-20-2007, 11:14 AM I also have the BFG AT/ko's 285/75/16s on my 4X4...been rotating them every 3000...currently have 86K on them and still have another 10K-12K left on the tread...the more often you rotate these babies the longer they will last Did you have to lift your truck to fit those? or are you running them with the stock height? any rubbing if kept at stock height? vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
