'02 powerelonfire 09-15-2007, 01:42 PM just looking for suggestions. any cheap power adders for a 02 5.3? silverado122775 09-15-2007, 08:05 PM What is you budget? YOu can do the typical stuff: Intake, exhaust, retune the chip. each will cost about $200-400. vortecman 09-15-2007, 09:08 PM for goodness sake, dont waste your money on shorty headers! ( I learned the hard way ) silverado122775 09-15-2007, 11:40 PM for goodness sake, dont waste your money on shorty headers! ( I learned the hard way ) What happened? What differance did it make? Better, worse or the same? Did it make the truck louder? Evansamms 09-16-2007, 03:03 PM Curious about teh shorty's too. I've got two studs cracked off (one on each manifold end, of course), and I was gonna pop a set of shorty headers on when i got to doin the job. Are they really no good? At least better than stock manifolds though right? vortecman 09-16-2007, 05:38 PM actually, it did make the truck a little more rev happy. i had to remove the steering column to remove the old manifold. has a little leak at the bottom now, but i'm too lazy to fix it. i got the Edelbrock "ti-tech" coating that "would not rust" HA! five months and they are already rusting. go with stainless steel if you have to get some. mine were $275. i was hoping for more sound, but as long as i have the 2 cat converters, not much louder. they were supposed to deliver "seat-of-the-pants performance over stock manifolds," but i was dissapointed. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
