Question 89 Tarus Wagon - Transmission

Anyone have the following problem and fix and cost fix??

thanks very much

dkoug

s Doug, the transmission needs from what I heard is a resealing job done to it, but it has been doing this for over 5 years and if you drive it sensible it doesn't really give any trouble. The only thing is when it shifts into 2nd gear just before shifting into third it has a tendency to come out of gear, but if you let off on the gas peddle immediately it will shift no problem and up into overdrive. I'm so used to it that its routine for me, but its not favourable to idiots who happen to be behind you who like to accelarate at a hundred miles an hour. If a person was to rev the engine up when it momentarly comes out of gear, then it certainly wouldn't be long before the clutches get burned out. The tranny fluid is still a bright clear pink even after 5 years the last time it was serviced. If you are still interested, I can give you a demonstration on how it works.

Actually there isn't much wrong with this car and it should be very reasonable to certify with little investment. I'll explain later if you do come down on Saturday.
Regards Ron.
