Ok Fellas, you guys have not been wrong yet and just want to thank you for that. Now I have just reached 113,000 miles on my 2002 VW Jetta 1.8T and it does fell like i don't have the responce and power im use to, Ive been told to change the timming belt because of the millage and a whole sort of other things i wont get into, So the question to you guys is What do I need to do and check just for proper maintenance.

Re: What do i need to do?

Well i would recommend changing your timing belt, because the story is if the breaks it bends pistons and valves so ive read. And have the transmission fluid flushed and replaced since most problems with the tranny come around this time if no previous problems. Change oil, spark plugs and wires. Change your coolant, and all filters (oil, air and fuel). See if that helps and couldnt hurt to put some engine restore in with your oil to help restore power.

Re: What do i need to do?

Thanks for all the info, unfortunately right after i posted the message, guess what broke, right the timing belt! Vw wanted 10 grand to fix it but, I found a tunning shop right down the road from them and got it done for 6, but these guys were very good at what they do the polished everything including my pistons got the car back and it runs with more power than before, I will do the other things you talked about though, well lesson learned..........If you live in the Houston area take your car to BARTUNING, these guys are the best!!!
