L-Tuned coming soon?
I was on the Lexus site, "building my own..." IS 5 speed, and look what I found...
Note two "L-Tuned" options that aren't available and do not have prices listed yet.
- L-Tuned Appearance Package
- L-Tuned Performance Package
So far the only L-Tuned parts have been for the GS. I guess we should be on the lookout for more coming soon!

What are the specs with the L-tuned as opposed to the regular package. The looks are okay and the explanation of what is done, but no specs?

i'd like to know specs too
i think the packages are worth it, but mostly enthusiasts would realize that... just a normal person would wonder why just a package costs so much... but if you count up the parts, it's not a bad deal, plus it's OEM so good quality

The L-tuned pacakges aren't worth it... it's just a way to generate more income for the dealers. U will do better w/ your own mods, unless u like the l-tuned body kit.

yes, all L-tuned stuff is covered under waranty... but keep in mind that all you're really getting are suspension upgrades and a new exhuast...

Mod the IS300 yourself and save a lot of money and it will feel more made for you. But Lexus does back the L tuned...

I believe Rod Millen can get the body paneling. As for tuning the real hardware yourself, my pal tells me that when he used to take his '99 SC300 to the dealership for service, the OBD system could pick up each and every line-lock (aka torque brake), and even if the car has been jacked up on only one end (such as with a shop jack on only the front, instead of on all fours on a hydraulic lift). By the way, he purchased and installed a Trust SUS Evolution dual exhaust system, and voided his emissions warrantee. His new LS430 remains stock for a reason.
I guess with Lexus, you need to be a bit more cautious.

I think this is quite suspect, and here's why: Any time you leave the Neg. terminal off the battery for more than 2 minutes, the entire car resets. Everything from the shifting to the A/F mapping... when I installed my piggyback ECU EVERYTHING was reset, so I highly doubt that while the important functions are reset, obscure stuff like jacking, and line-locks were registered and stored by the ECU.
