Re: 2003 GTI radio stations not clear

the car has a powered antenna, if at one point your car had an aftermarket stereo in there, it is very possible the power wire for the antenna was chopped and not reconnected when they reinstalled the factory deck.
If you are really nice, some stereo shops would probably be willing to take a look at it for next to nothing, it is extremely easy to pull your headunit if you have the right tools

Re: 2003 GTI radio stations not clear

Thank you, well not to sure if the car had a aftermarket stereo in it because it was off of a lease but maybe. i know a friend that works at a car stereo shop hopefully they have the tools i'll get him to check it out.

oh but if the antenna was chopped or not reconnected would the radio work at all? Because sometimes it does.

Check all the wiring, as stated earlier if the car at anypoint has an aftermarket system it's possible when putting the stock system back, they didn't do a good job. Otherwise maybe look for a used unit and try to purchase it, then sell yours.
