helloP&G Photo 09-10-2007, 12:47 AM I've been trying to post a question here but I keep getting error messages. maxwedge 09-10-2007, 03:54 PM Well it works now. mactosh 09-11-2007, 12:16 AM :banghead: Ok, so maybe I am stupid or something. I don't see where you can post a notice without replying to someone else's post. I am new as you probably can tell. So I need lots of help! The deal is I have a chevy lumina 1996 that uses a chip key. I can't find anyone who makes new keys for this car. Is there anyway to take the stupid chip out of the equation and let me use a regular car key??? HELP:screwy: maxwedge 09-11-2007, 04:57 PM Many quality locksmiths make the keys as well as any GM dealer. Look at the l/s top of the forum main page for thread starter. jeffcoslacker 09-11-2007, 05:25 PM You can check the resistance of the chip in the key with a DVOM, then buy a chipped blank of that value, and just have it cut...the expense is having them read it and match it. You can also solder a resistor of the proper value into the wiring harness, bypassing the key's chip. Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
