97 Z24 interior lights and power mirrors

Hey all I have a 98 Cavalier and for over a year now I have not had any interior lights or power mirrors working. The problem is under the dash on the passenger side BURIED way up in there there is a black box with wires comming in and out, Chev can not seem to pull the part numbers or even aknowledge the fact that this thing exists, I don't think it does anything other the junction some wores but I can not be sure as I can not get it off or really get at it, I would have to remove the glove box and it is molded into the dash so that is not happening, the closest I can get is if I remove the air bag and go at it from the top or lay on my bafck srawling half out the door and try to get at it from below. Anyone ever had any problems like this? If I wiggle just the right way it will or at least used to come back but I have not tried in awhile. It started off that I used to be able to open and close the passenger door and it would come back but not it is just all dead....I miss my damn lights lol. Any help or suggestions would be appretiated. I have checked all the fuses everything is fine there , it is def this little black junction box, prolly a broken wire or some stupid thing.

Re: 98 Z24 interior lights and power mirrors

Well it is not the black box...the box is part of the alarm system if you have one and also controls the chime or dinging you hear when your lights are on, keys are in the ignition etc....so something under there is lose and or shorting out or something...
