Timing on a 1998 2.4 L

I have to put in a timing chain on my cavalier has the 2.4 dual cam. I am lost can anyone guide me threw this. I put it on once and it ran like I was 180 off so now I have it tore apart again and as I said I am lost here. Any help is very, very much appreciated. Is it the number 3 cylinder TDC or number one?
