Exhaust ?

I Have A 2006 Monte Carlo Ltz And I Know I'm This Is Camaro/firebird Forum, But The Question Is About Exhaust, I've Been Trying To Find An Exhaust I Want And I Decided On Flowmaster 40 Series Mufflers And 3.5" Tips. Just Wondering What You Guys Think I Should Go With. Should I Go With The Super 40's Or Delta Flow 40's?

Re: Exhaust ?

On Camaros we stay away from the flowmasters because they aren't good on performance

Re: Exhaust ?

Let me get this straight.... You're just putting aftermarket mufflers and tips on a stock exhaust??? Or are you redoing the whole exhaust and just questioning the muffler selection?

I've got a 3" flowmaster header back setup that is bastardized beyond all get-out, some retard put 2.5" extensions after the mufflers. I just put Hooker 2"-3.5" ceramic headers on it, left the flowmaster 3" exhaust and am going to put turndowns back on - just after the mufflers. It flowed great before the idiot put the 2.5" extensions on, and that was with 1.5"-3.0" headers (pretty well undersized).

As far as I am concerned, the difference between the brands of manufacturers for the actual exhaust systems is in the quality and workmanship of the finished product. There is no difference between a 3" exhaust pipe from Magnaflow, Dynomax, Flowmaster (etc) except maybe how it looks, and how long it will last (rust resistance, etc). Mufflers are a different story, but a pipe is a friggin pipe, unless you want it to look fancy.
