Get Your Car Color # Through Your Vin # ??

I heard the stock color of your color you could get in your Vin# if yours has been faded or ripped off your door panel over time? Anyone know of this being possible....

I have a 1994 Pontiac Firebird, Its like a hunter green with a flake.... I am trying to get the color # to get some touch up paint.... Anyone know how i can get the number or if anyone has the same car let me know please thanks!

The VIN won't do it. What you need is the RPO code listing. On F bodies they put them in the glove box, behind the rear panel in the trunk, and I've heard of some being found under the passenger side kick panel.

My RPO sticker is on the driver's door.

should look like this:

If you look closely, the paint code is near the bottom left corner.

Re: Get Your Car Color # Through Your Vin # ??

After looking around online, I found http://www.marshu.com/ws6-firebird-c...codes-2000.php, which is a long list of GM colors, from which I found these exterior paint colors:

44L : SECONDARY COLOR, EXTERIOR, FOREST GREEN MET (91)
44U : PRIMARY COLOR, EXTERIOR, FOREST GREEN MET (91)
46U : PRIMARY COLOR, EXTERIOR, DK GREEN (91)
49U : PRIMARY COLOR, EXTERIOR, VERDORO GREEN MET ( 92 )
91T : TOP COLOR, DK POLO GREEN MET (91)
91U : PRIMARY COLOR, EXTERIOR, DK POLO GREEN MET (91)
92U : PRIMARY COLOR, EXTERIOR, DK CALYPSO GREEN MET (94)

This should help with your search, or narrow it down a little. From your discription, my guess is either the 44l or 44U paint code. Could you try to "match" this to what is left on your RPO sheet?
