car seems to run out of gas....

HELP!!!!!!
I just bought a 91 Dodge Caravan SE 3.3L and it starts easily but after driving a few hundred meters to about 2K it acts like it's out of gas.
I pull over and shut it off (if it hasn't died already) and a few seconds later it starts right up and I drive off only to have it happen yet again.
Yesterday I drove 45 mi and it did this thing 20 times. I had a full tank of gas. What's going on?!!!!

When was the fuel filter changed last ??? If you don't know, it probally needs a new one. It sounds like the filter is getting fairly plugged up and when the car dies or sits for awhile the pressure build-up (with gunk from tank) releases allowing the gas to flow again and allow a start-up!!

Hopefully that's your problem. (not to expensive)

Re: Seems like I'm running out of gas

Thanks Norm.
I took it to the mechanic that certified it and he replaced the fuel filter but it didn't fix the problem. Eventually I got a new fuel pump. That did the job. Thankfully, it was under warranty.
