Remote

Help I'm working on a 02 tdi jetta w/ a posessed remote, we replaced the battery in it and now you press any button and the alarm goes off?!The remote was dead previous to this and so we figured the battery was dead, replaced it and now it has the little red led light on the remote flashing all the time. Is this normal? Also brake wear light is on on the dash, we've inspected the brakes as they were new in the fall of 06, new rotors as well??? One other thing is the tstat light comes on and off sporadically?

Re: Remote

The remote is junk, get a new one

The light is on for your brakes because they have wires going to usually one pad that has a sensor in it, when the pad wears down enough so the sensor touches the pad, the light comes on. If your pads are not worn down, the wires are broken, you can splice them together to shut the light of if you want to, otherwise, you have to replace the pads.
