LED Indicator

I have a quick question, this indicator popped up in my car and I just wanted to know what it was for. It's a little square with a cap on top and an arrow pointing down towards little waves inside. Along with this popping up there is a faint burning smell . Let me know what it is.

Thanks alot.

Re: LED Indicator

Yea, I'm pretty sure that's low coolant. If it smells like maple syrup, then you def have a coolant leak somewhere. Have it checked out before you drive much.

Re: LED Indicator

How many miles do you have on the car?? If you have them racked up then just change it.If some1 before you didnt mix the coolant right then it could have just burnt up if they put to much water in it. Or you have a crack in the radiator and you can do 1 of 2 things. 1) get a new radiator about $100 new, or 2) You can get this stuff at ne auto store for stopping leeks in radiators(dont know the name of it but im pretty sure they will) about $10-$15 but the down side to this method is when or if you go and change the radiator fluid after putting this stuff in will make it a hell of alot harder to drain the fliud seeing as it might clod the drain hole.

depending on exactly what the problem is, its most likely caused by time, common sense tells me with the low coolant light and burning smell, you most likely have a coolant leak, depending on where exactly that leak is will determine how much it will cost to fix, so unfortunately no one will be able to give you a dollar figure

on another note, i was looking at your cardomain page, you should seriously consider giving boeing their wing back,

Re: LED Indicator

do a coolant flush and check your hoses and radiator for leaks, dont use the stop leak product drmambo was talking about, if it fills in the holes in ur radiator who knows what it might clog up in your engine

Re: LED Indicator

wow, 54000 on a 97, that is unreal, but regardless, its a 10 year old car, its gonna have its problems, andrew is right about the stop leak products, i'd stay away from the cheap fixes since it looks like you're gonna have this car for a while
and i made the wing comment cuz its uglier then hell, WAY to big

Re: LED Indicator

I think your car looks good - if not a little ricey. The spoiler is where I draw the line, too, though. It's a little much. Okay, a lot much.

Sounds like it might be time to concentrate on the actual workings of the vehicle though rather than getting a <cool looking race whatever> spoiler/seats/decals </cool looking race whatever> for it.

That's all
