Re: To buy or not?
For the price at least you are only going to lose 100 bucks. They might be real nice considering someone might have 5 finger discounted them. So if you have the extra money give it a shot. I have one but can't use the auto start because I have a manual. The one I have is a Prestige and it has a 1500 sqft range.

Re: To buy or not?
well, i know people with manual cars that have the auto start enabled.
also know someone who stuck it in gear before using it... had the car butt-..kissing another car.

Re: To buy or not?
Yea I would imagine it could work with a manual if you rigged the clutch star switch or whever it is ... (my 82 still has that even tho its an auto ... lol.) and just put the car in Neut with the Ebrake on just dont leave it in gear like I was taught to do lol

Re: To buy or not?
A friend of mine got one on a 95 firebird. One night coming out of a store he thought he would be cool. Hit the auto start from in side the store and when he came out his car was ass ramming a brand new accord...lol

Auto trans, yes. Had one on 2 different trucks... nice to get into a warm truck in the winter and a cool one in the summer.
You'd be out of your mind to put one in a manual trans car. UNLESS you had a fail-safe way of ensuring it was in neutral when you pushed the button.

Re: To buy or not?
I know a guy that had one on his STI, and it was set up to only start with the E-brake up and not in gear.

Re: To buy or not?
How hard are these things to install and how hard is it to bypass the neutral safety switch? I don't think i'd have much trouble leaving it in gear. I've had my car roll out of the driveway countless times because i leave it out of gear. Hell, i left it out of gear once when i got pulled over and started to roll away while the cop was talking to me. I felt so stupid.
