burning up plug wires any suggestions?

I am building a drag car, and put a built 454 into a 78 malibu. the headers are so close to the plug wires, that it will burn up the wire in about two minutes. any one have any suggestions? I think my exhaust temp is too high and don't know what to do to reduce the heat. This engine is about 700hp 13-1 JE pistons, 750 lift roller cam, dart 345 pro 1 heads dart intake and a 1050 dominator 92 in the front and 98 in the rear.
