I've noticed that the noise in my cabin is getting louder and louder these days. Just general noise, sometimes rather rhythmic and occasionally accompanied by tapping that starts out slow and increases with road speed. Clutch in, clutch out, in and out of gear, doesn't matter. Does this sound like wheel bearings and/or CV joints?

I noticed that when I took the axle nut off the driver's side there is no movement when I grab the axle; on the passenger side there is a good 2 inch slop (I can push and pull the axle in and out of the tranny). Is this normal?

Right now I'm afraid to drive it but I need to get it back on the road. The good weather will only hold out so much longer and then my motorcycle simply won't do.

no you shouldnt have that much play or any play if you can help it. Sounds like you need a CV
