Loud Exhaust

What would you recommend for a 98 trans am with a 5.7. I'm trying to find something that sounds clean.

Re: Loud Exhaust

I had flowmasters but decided it was to tinny sounding. One of our members turned me on to magnaflow and absolutely love them. Nice and mellow just cruising around and when you get on it they come alive. You will not be disappointed.

Re: Loud Exhaust

Shit, then I wouldn't even bother with the exhaust, just add the cutout.

Re: Loud Exhaust

I agree my 02 has magnaflow it sounds great, no flowmasters or SLP the SLP cracks and breaks after 2-3 years a buddy of mine had his break within a year and he is a die hard SLP fan and when he wrote to them about it they told him they wouldn't cover it. So he wrote back saying he would take off his SLP PERFORMANCE sticker across the top of his windshield, and they finally decided to send him a new resn.

I'm surprised they did that.. from all of the stories I've heard SLP is a bunch of asses that don't stand behind anything and have horrible customer service.

Re: Loud Exhaust

Flowmasters are not that great. I also think SLP is only a step up from them. Borla is my final answer if you dont mind opening up the check book

Re: Loud Exhaust

What's wrong with the LM? I think its just as well-designed as the more expensive borla or GMMG. Its stainless, 3", a good price, with a mean sound. Company ight be a bunch of asses, but that catback is quality.

Re: Loud Exhaust

The Loudmouth is a quality catback for the most part.
SLP is nothing but a rip-off though. They won't cover ANYTHING they sell.

I vote Magnaflow.
The Loudmouth sounds great on a car with stock exhaust manifolds, but sounds like total crap with longtube headers. It was so bad, I cut it off the car.
