Welcome to AF! Can you do a VIN search through your state's DMV? That might be the first place I'd start the search. I doubt Carfax would have any info on that vehicle. I wonder if there is such a thing as a national database for VIN numbers where your DMV can do a search of all 50 states to find the vehicle if it is still registered, and if not could give you the last known location . If there is no such thing then there ought to be one. <adding humor> (maybe you could ask our President as it seems they know everything that's going on in this country in the guise of National Homeland Security, they might know where it is.)
