Saturday was ready to replace the rear pads and rotors. I spent about 2 hrs trying to get the rear passenger rotor off with no luck. I heated with a torch, used wd-40, and whacked the hell out of the rotor with a wheel puller on it but would not come off. I tried the driver side and seemed the same problem so i gave up and put everything back. Any suggestions. This is the first brake job in 40 yrs that i could not do on my own. Might have the hobby shop on Base do the work since i have the parts and can't get the rotors off.

Answering my own post.

Monday finally got the rear rotors off. Went to Hobbie shop on base and rented a lift for $3.00 and they had all the tools needed to knock off the rotors about a 4lb sledge hammer and about 5 good whacks and both off. new rotors and pads and all is ok. Just a bit of advice. The truck is a 2004 with 40k and the rotors were really rusted on the hub/axle so spray some penetrating oil let sit and start hammering away. I'm sure many will have this problem.

I had a flat on the rear the other day. (fortunately in my driveway) The wheel would not come off. The axle center was rusted to the wheel (factory 20 inch). I finally go it off by hitting it with a big hammer on the inside. I am disabled and it took all I had. I'm just glad it did not happen on the road. The good news/bad news is that the tire was non-repairable but the tread was getting low. I ordered a new set that day. Let them get the other ones off.
