3800 performance

I have a 2002 t/a ws6. I plan on buying an 2002 camaro with the 3.8 v-6. What should I be running in the 1/4 with a full set of bolt ons including a 4.10 gear?

yeah..u gonna bolt on a blower??? that could be a wide range of things....we had a guy down here in florida to be one of the first guys to run low 11's in a 3800 camaro, but that was some time ago..i know a few people doing that now.

Re: 3800 performance

Headers, gear, short shifter, 2.5in. or 3in. y-pipe haven't decided yet, magnaflow cat back, throttle body spacer, ported throttle body, ported intake, maybe some head work, underdrive pully, coils, MSD wires, computer tune, bump rev. limiter to 6600, performance clutch-not sure what brand yet, SS rims, drag radials, cold air intake, 160 thermostat, basically anything but a blower or turbo, or cam-not yet anyway.

Otherwise, the throttle body as it sits now is very sufficient until you start moving towards the forced induction route. When/if that time comes, that's when a ported TB will come in handy.

Re: 3800 performance

I didn't know that when you look at the 4.3 the t/b "blade" has a huge lip on it i just figured that the 3.8 did also, ss rims might not happen I may use the five spoke v-6 rims.

Re: 3800 performance

So does anyone know about what kind of hp numbers this 3.8 might make, all bolt ons no head work, no nitrous, no cam? I was looking at some of the civic forums and the k20 swap, but they only run 13's and the swap cost loads of cash, why do that when you can get one of these 3.8s to run low 12's? My friend is doing the k20 swap and he asked me to post a thread so you might see that in the civic section, like anyone here would go there.
