Rack and Pinion steering going in my 70 SS

Hey, all:

My winter project for my 70 will be a complete suspension rebuild (front and rear), rack and pinion steering, power disc's up front, sub-frame connectors, all new bushings, and multi-spark ignition. (Mallery HyFire - a bit less expensive than MSD)
My question is... Summit only shows a manual rack for the 68-72 Nova's. There is a power unit for 67-68 Camaro's that "probably" will fit. Has anyone done a conversion like this and how do the manual setups steer? Do I need Popeye arms with the manual, or do they drive fairly nice? I know I will also need to get a new steering shaft as well, and I really don't mind losing the power steering pump! <grin>
Any info, thoughts, etc. are welcome.
