Banging noise when turning left

For some wierd reason every time i turn left and its bumpy the truck lets out some violent banging noises...as if something is smashing against the frame...or popping out. I can't explain what it is and hoped that someone else had this situation before. My mechanic just did my ball joints so they are fine, the tranny mounts have been retorqued along with the torsion bar crossmember. Please help!

Welcome to AF
It may not be safe to drive.
Somebody needs to craw under there and have a look at it.
I your mechanic just done ball joints I would take it back and have him check things over.
Let us know what you find or how it goes.

I've had this problem for years now, first i thought it was a broken bracket on the sway bar, then i thought it was the ball joints..... but it was neither one. No mechanic has found what is wrong with it, and i've spent plenty of time down there and cant figure it out.........

Me too. My mechanic said he tightened a bolt and it went away for a week or two, then came back.

Re: Banging noise when turning left

Check and make sure your torsion bar mounts are not broken. Is the noise coming from under your front seats, or the front end? Also, check your control arm bolts/studs and make sure they are tight.

Re: Banging noise when turning left

I've got the same problem, also when braking hard or coming to a stop. It seems the noise is coming from the left rear to me.

Re: Banging noise when turning left

Just had the same loud banging under my truck. Changed the torsion bar mounts and the noise was gone. The old mounts were trash, it took me about 2 hours with a little opcorn: envolved!
