Cool Fuse location

I have just bought a 1990 Golf GTI Cabriolet. The headlights have suddenly stopped working and high beam works only if I pull the indicator stalk towards me and hold it there - not too convenient when driving a manual car. Is it just a fuse problem? if so, where on Earth have they hidden the fuse panel??? Help! :-(

Red face Re: Fuse location

Well I can answer this myself - the car is right hand drive and the fuses are under the dashboard on the left, with a pull-down panel protecting them from feet etc.
