Can someone tell me the location of the Coolant Temperature Sensor on a 95 4x4 4 door Jimmy? My Jimmy is hard starting when it sits out in the heat for awhile. In the morning when its cooler it starts just fine. Wanted to check contacts and possibly replace.

Front of engine in. two wire sensor screwed into water jacket.
Usually on intake and close to stat.
Also check the air intake tempt sensor.
Best test is to read out what they are showing/reading on a scanner.

Thanks for the info. What are the typical ohm readings for testing the IAT sensor, or where can I find the test procedure?

Ohms depend on tempt.
A good repair manual will give the ohm readings for different tempt.
But you best bet is to get in on a engine scanner and see what they are reading in the computer.
And see if the PCM reading is matching the actual engine tempt.

How much do you want to spend or how much do you want it to do?
All scanners do not do all things and test all years.
OBD2 or OBD1
Inport or Asian or domestic?
Lap top or hand held setup?
They start at 5-10K and go down.

MT listed a good one, but I'm looking at another similar tool.

Seems like they are very comparable, but the base autotap setup is $50 cheaper, and the enhanced peramiter sets for each manufacturer are also much cheaper. I can buy the autotap base setup and the enhanced Ford and GM peramiters for less than $400.....
