96 GMC Jimmy

My jimmy was running fine yesterday, started right up.

I went down a dirt back road, where there were some ruts,(wash out ruts I guess), Anyway, I was driving, I slowed down, as no way to avert them, then my engine just quit.

I went to start it again, and the fuel pump wouldnt kick on.

I checked all fuses and nothing. All were good.

someone told me to check the fuel pump relay in the glove box. I tried it and still nothing.

what could have happened????
Ok someone said to check the inertia switch. I have some mechanics telling me that GMC dont have them then another says they do.
If they do, where is located?????

would someone email me please? I need this vehicle to get to work
Thanks

Re: 96 GMC Jimmy

W3elcome to AF.
Only Fords have inertia switches.
It is not wise to post your e mail for the public to see.

Fuel pump relay behind glove box.

Check EMC fuse no 5 for power.

Check gray wire from relay to fuel pump for 12 volt power.
Key on 3 second fuel pump prime or starting.

Also there is a single red fuel pump prime wire someplace for testing fuel pump.
