89 jimmy won't rev high

89 gmc jimmy 4.3 auto. running fine untill one day it died on me on the road, that turned out to be a bad ignition control module. got it replaced then 1 day or so after started stalling a bit taking off from stop lights.it idled fine but taking off i would have to press on the gas harder to get going but it would not die on me. i replaced the control module again just in case it was a faulty one but the same problem persisted. There seemed to be a responseless gap until i reached passed half open throttle. you would hear the throaty sound deepen but the engine revs wouldn't really follow it. it is now worse. it still idles fine but the problem is now constant. in park or neutral i can rev fine up to about 2500-3000. it won't rev past that even at wide open throttle (manually opening the butterfly). you get a deeper throaty sound and engine sputtering but doesn't die. when you let the throttle go it settles and idles fine. same thing while driving but it takes while for it to switch gears (auto trans) because of that problem.

since i have swapped
coil
plugs
plug wires
dist cap
rotor
fuel filter
throttle positioning sensor
computer (ecu)

any advice??

Check your fuel pump pressure.

I am not 100% on the 89, but on the ones I have worked on there is a schrader valve on the fuel supply line.
