'99 Air Conditioning Filter

Any ideas where to place a filter on the AIR CONDITIONER? '99 astro cargo van.runaround L.A. smog/dust!

If you are referring to adding a "cabin air filter", the HVAC system is not designed to accomodate one. If you are referring to adding filters to the refrigerant system, it is best to install two: one in the low side line and one in the high side line. They should be located as close to the compressor as possible in order to obtain the best protection possible. The low side filter will trap particles before they enter the compressor. The high side filter will trap particles so they can not enter the system in the event of a catastrophic compressor failure.
