i broke my rear end in my 1997 bravada. i snaped my center carrer welds and broke my drive shaft:banghead:. it twisted my rear center carrer up so i got a new drive shaft made. i re centred my rear end welded it in place around the carrer carrer to the axle shaft tubes and in the old spots thinking it would make it stronger like a solid rear not like the 3 pice it is and the new weldes broke when i steped on the gas to go like 2 weekes after i welded it i was wondering if the rear center carrer is nickle plated or made of a diffrient kind of mettal so that would mean i would have to use a diffrient weld on it if any one know what kind of metal it is made out of please let me know iam trying to get it fixed asap for my lil bro to have for his first car!! thanks!!!

Welcome to AF, I'd get a used housing here, you are not going to get this resolved by the sound of it and how did this occur to begin with? These tubes must be set up on a jig to insure they are inline before welding.
