turbo-camaro

ive got a 1995 3.4l camaro. a couple weeks ago i went to a junkyard looking for a turbocharger for it. i took one out of a saab 900, i believe its a garrett T3. im wondering if i have to do anything to the engine to make it safer, or if i can just pop her in there? would i need to build up the intake manifold? change the MAF? anything?

Re: turbo-camaro

It would probably be a wise idea to forge the motor. A built bottom-end with a lower comp. ratio for more boost. A lot of little details, but that's the bulk of it.

That t3 is gonna be kinda small for your 3.4... I wouldn't waste my time on such a small turbo. I would get something a little bigger and better matched for that 3.4 and then do it. Of course like said already, you will need to at least build the bottom end of the motor first with a lower compression ratio and some forged parts...

Re: turbo-camaro

you can get away with 6-8psi with you engine as is, you want forged if you're going with high boost pressure. any other mods that allow the engine to breathe better is going to help. I don't know what the stock MAF maxes out on, but I know a custom ecm tune will be necessary.
