94 accord door stuck in the closed positionimpisssed 07-15-2007, 02:49 PM i need to know if i can remove the panel while it is closed ive semi tried but i dont want to damage the panel and i dont want to spend money on something that i can do myself 00accord44 07-15-2007, 06:40 PM You won't be able to remove the entire door panel since the screws are along the outer edge but you should be able to remove the handle section from inside to see if the latching mechanism has been detached. But if both the inside and outside handles aren't working then your issue is probably with the lock. How/when did the door become stuck? Did you hear anything when it broke? Do you hear anything when you try the handle(s)? impisssed 07-18-2007, 08:18 PM yeah actually it sounds as if a lil plastic part of some sort fell to the bottom of the door... does this mean the lock is the problem? 00accord44 07-18-2007, 08:58 PM If you can get the inside handle off, check to see if the piece connecting the handle hinge to the opening latch is there. Hopefully it just came loose and you can pull on it to open the door. If not you'll need to reach in there and feel around for the latch to get it open. The only thing that doesn't seem to add up is that the outside handle isn't connected to the inside latch so either there's a disconnect between the two systems or you got a busted lock which takes some doing to fix (ie a locksmith). Good luck man wiseguy01 08-19-2007, 04:39 PM no the lock isnt broken this is just a flaw by honda inside the door there are rods if u can see them where the rod connects to the outside handle honda uses a plastic piece that looks like an L used to compensate for 90 degree angle they get old and break alot of times slamming the door causes the problem so remove the door panel u can with door close the outside of the door is held in with plastic pop anchors and the armrest has one or two screws in it and the handle u use to open the door then once u disassemble the wiring harness there should be what looks like a plastic bag u have to remove this then you will see the rods two should run parralel with the car and two should go up and down u want one of the two that run left to right pull on it more towards the door jamb and voila now go to autozone and ask for door rod clips they are in help section and cost like 5.00$ goodluck Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
