Re: what call this?

what year, make, and engine is this picture of ??? Your profile shows you have a 99 Grand Prix. It's not a 99 3.1, because the throttle cables are on the wrong side of the throttle body and the t-stat is under the t-body on a 99 3.1. And its not a 99 3800, because they have a plastic upper plenum.

Re: what call this?

Looks like a pic of an L67 SII 3800 to me. I see a supercharger.

The part he is referring to is the same for a L36 or L67 engine. It is the rubber vacuum line transducer/adapter that connects the plastic vacuum lines from the fuel pressure regulator and evaporative purge valve to the throttle body.

I've seen them crack causing a vacuum leak. What it is called technically I have no clue.

i took your advice, its pretty darn tight now and for some reason that didn't seem to do anything to get rid of the noise..

it only happens when accelerating at 2000 rpm, and not above or below that mark. its pretty quiet on my first acceleration but after that when the engine is warmed up it it'll make the noise again. it does not happen in park/neutral and really sounds like air squirting out of something almost like a scraping sound.. any thoughts?
