tailpipe bangin' into the hitch

So, 5 years ago I installed a hitch. Now in the last two weeks the tailpipe is vibrating up against it ... I've tried to adjust the rubber hangers a bit, but it just ends out vibrating again.

So here are my three options.

1. take it to a exhaust shop to have them bend the pipe (cost probably 50 bucks).

2. Take a stiff wire to wire it over

3. take my cut off wheel (and safety glasses) and cut off the part of the hitch that it is banging up against.

What would you do???

Re: tailpipe bangin' into the hitch

OMG don't cut on the hitch!! I might try using some mechanics wire but the right way to do it would be the exhaust shop option. The tailpipes are a tight fit on these trucks. My wife bumped the tailpipe of our Rodeo and every now and then it vibrates against the frame.

Re: tailpipe bangin' into the hitch

Ive seen where dad used bailing wire form the frame to the rubber hangers to keep them in place and it seems to work great. Andie
