Brake Bias Problem on 2001 Passport

Just completed a brake job on 2001 Passport with 85,000 miles. 4-wheel discs. Purchased this vehicle new in 2001 & this is the first brake job since purchase.

I've never had any trouble with the brakes and when I took them apart, everything looked fine except the front pads were no more than 1/3 worn out while the rear pads were into the wear indicators. Completely gone.

It looks like the brake bias is way, way off. Is there any way to change the brake bias without major modifications or replacing the proportioning valve? The manual says it is a non-serviceable item.

Any thoughts/suggestions would be appreciated.

I Have a 2wd (with drums in the rear) and I had the rear pads changed at 72K and the fronts, now at 80K are still just fine.

Well. . . maybe this is normal for Passports/Rodeos.

Of the 10 vehicles I've owned since 1972, this is the first one in which the rear brakes wore out before the front. I got 240,000 miles on the rear brakes on my F-150 but the fronts have to be replaced every 80K-90K miles (pesky buggers!)

Although, this is the first one I've owned that had discs on the rear.

Could that be it? Is this a normal brake wear pattern for 4-wheel discs?
