I have a 1989 voyager with a problem accelerating. The symptom is like a carburetor with the accelerator pump not working. the car will start and idle for a short time but wants to quit when the accelerator is depresed. I replaced the air, fuel filters and the throttle position sensor with no change. It also acts like it is running out of fuel when idleing.

Check/clean the idle air control valve, throttle body and EGR system. Check fuel pressure.

Thanks for the help. I rmoved the fuel filter and turned on the key, only some gas came out. Replaced the fuel pump and it runs now.

I've been working 16 hours / day 7 days per week for the last two months so I have little time to work on the van or respond.

again, thanks for the help.

Unfortunately, most don't bother coming back. Fortunately, you bucked the trend. Glad to hear you're on the road again. Thanks.
