curious
i plan on buying a 98-02 Z28 or SS. So on a 98-02 ls1 camaro is the procharger D-1SC better than the vortech w/V-9 SQ G-trim w/ aftercooler. i also see that the vortech with a stock motor bumps up to like 448hp correct me if im wrong. i didnt find and stats on the procharger in HP range. which is better. i wanna get somewhere in the 550hp range. i know im goin to have to do everything forged but also what supporting mods r needed to get there and is there a better supercharger with a different setup. i was lookin at doin the FAST 90mm intake and throttle body and 60lb injectors. is it also smart to go with a stroker kit on this setup. i was looking at lingenfelter. wat kind of headers r the best along with exhaust system. ive looked at a lot of them and hear flowmaster borla magnaflow, just cant decide. also looking at doin a 12 bolt w/ posi. wat other suspension mods r needed. need input on this setup

Re: curious
Technically, boost is boost. You can get 10 psi out of either system. Just depends on which one you want. Some people don't like procharger because of its self-lubricating system. Its good because you don't have to tap for oil lines, but at the same time, the oil doesn't get circulated and given a chance to cool down.
As far as the stroker, more cubes is never a bad thing. You'll just want to watch your SRR (stroke-rod-ratio). If you go with too big of a stroke, then that puts extra side-load on the cylinder walls. And with boost, that's not a good thing. You'll be safe with a forged 383 setup though.
You want to go with full bolt-ons to get the most of your setup. If you're on a budget with headers, go with ceramic coated pacesetters; nothing's better for the price. If you want top-quality, then go with Kooks or QTP's stainless steel LT's. They will outlive the car. As far as exhaust, go with a true-dual setup from TSP. You'll also want to look into higher flowing heads with a bigger combustion chamber to help lower that copmpression a bit for more boost (as well as dished pistons). And a blower cam to match the blower and the heads.
If you want to get as much power as you can to those rear wheels, then you'll probably need a full suspension setup. I would also go with a full chassis setup too. Springs, shocks, sub-frame connectors, panhard bar, torque arm, upper and lower control arms...etc. You may need to fortify the tranny as well.

money is not an object because i want to do everything right the first time and my job allows me to say that about $. i plan on doing this whole setup over the winter as i live in iowa so yes we get snow but great time to break down motor and car and do everything i need in 5-6 months.

Re: curious
For the stroker setup, you can go many routes. Personally, I would look into Lunati. They sell stroker kits, so you don't have to guess and mix-and-match parts.
For blower cams and such, call Comp Cams and see what they have. They have a knowledgable staff to answer your questions and recommend some things.
Suspension/chassis, there are endless possibilities. Spohn, BMR, UMI, just do a search or pick up a magazine.

what r ur recommendations on suspension and is it smart to run a roll cage because if its a ttop it will twist the frame with that much power correct? this is gonna be a car that will probably be a street driven car for the most part

Re: curious
The sub-frame connectors will correct the chassis for the t-tops. SFC are a must for any t-top car.
I can't recommend anything because I don't have suspension/chassis mods yet. Paying for college and such limits my modding abilities. But if I came across some cash, I plan on going with UMI's full chassis setup.
Suspension-wise, I wouldn't mind Air Rides new system. Replace the springs with air bags. I've heard good things from them.
