mass airflow sensor

I have a 97 GTP and my check engine light is on. I had it scanned and the code was for a mass air flow sensor. I replaced the MAS and had the engine light shut off. The Light came back on and it is running bad again after the car sits for a while it has no power and spits and spudders everytime you take off. That is only for about 5 or so minutes. After it runs for 5 minutes it runs fine. I had it scanned again and they again said MAS low circuit. Anyone have any suggestions?

Re: mass airflow sensor

What brand MAF did you replace it with? Maybe the replacement was bad. The low frequency DTC code normally indicates a bad MAF. Also, check the PCM 5 volt reference signal at the input of the electrical connector.

Disconnect the MAF sensor and see how it runs. Safe to do so for short period of time for troubleshooting purposes.
