fuel leak in 97 740i

I have a 1997 740i with 166K miles. Recently noticed a fuel leak which appears under the passenger side foot well area. Smell of fuel obviously also. Any thoughts on where it may be coming from? No other performance problems other than slight loss of gas mileage. Also does not leak when not running and I notice it worse when first running. Thanks for you help!

Hi newbie member here but ex BMW technician of 11 years.
There is a fuel rail that runs round the rear of the inlet manifold and they are prone to leaking round the injector seals and the fuel finds its way through the air intake for the heater into the cabin space. If you remove the top engine cover and run the engine you should be able to see the leak quite easily. Hope this helps
