Hi everyone - first post.

I have a '00 Venture that I'll be doing the LIM gasket R&R on....I'm a fairly accomplished shadetree - at least my neighbors tell me that....

I've read through the various posts and am comfortable with the job except for one question: what's the correct torque/method for re-torquing the rocker arm nuts after loosening them to get the pushrods out???

For ppl. who've done this successfully, what did you do??

They are actually rocker arm bolts. According to the Haynes manual:
Step 1 - Tighten to 168 IN-LBS (That's INCH Pounds!)
Step 2 - Tighten an additional 30 degrees.

If you haven't read through it already read the IMG thread in this forum. Lots of good tips in there. I estimate that it took me about 20 hours but I was going slow to try not to make any mistakes.

Make sure you put all of the push rods back in the same slot and orientation they came from.

...about the additional 30 degrees of rotation - is there a gage for that; or should I just guesstimate?

Yes there is a gauge, I think I saw it in the Snap-On tools catalog but I just guesstimated. A six sided bolt has 30 degrees between sides so if you mentally note where one side is and tight the rocker until the next flat is in the same position you should be golden.

I believe turning to the next flat would be 60 degrees. 360 degrees (1 turn) divided by 6 flats = 60 degrees.

Yeah, I figured that out before I did the work....unfortunately; flat-to-point doesn't work, either - I figure that's 45 degrees.....so I just guestimated as best I could...I think I'm close enough.....
