the differences are pracitcally impossible to spot...
being 1, the Engine and 2, obviously the badges and thats all!!! (to my knowledge)
the gold badge is an option with any TVR (god knows why) think Lexus do the same but don't quote me on that!

right done a little bit of home work on this..
Tuscan: 3.4L, Six Cyl
Tuscan S: 4.0L, Six Cyl
Tuscan R: (probably, no specs listed) 4.5L
they're all Six Cyl so there is no Tuscan Speed 6 the only Speed 6 is the Cerbera

yeah that's the way it is!! i think (only think!) the Tuscan R is the one they race now in challenge races etc.. i used to have the sales info on it but can't find it and it seems TVR no longer sell it as an option maybe it's gone exclusively for racing i dont really know!

urrrrrm to be honest im not sure.... you could get hold of a fully fledged race version then convert it for road use but im sure the cost will out weigh the gain.... although it would be the fastest road version by far and the cost to maintain it would be high!.... or i guess you could find out for sure what engine is in the Tuscan R buy the Tuscan then get an engine transplant .....again this will be expensive...
you best bet is to get on to TVR and ask them although they are not to helpfull (infact almost useless unless you're asking about one of there cars from a show room!!!)
you could go nuts and get a Speed 12 engine transplanted and have a Tuscan 12.. 800 bhp in a car that small and light would be phenominal.. although im sure there's a million and one engineering and mechanical reasons why that wouldnt be straight forward or cheap

frankly the magazine got it wrong! all the info i've put up (xcept my own thoughts) has come from TVR themselves...
i think when the Tuscan was first out they might of called it a speed 6 but seing as there's been three models of the same car each one with variations on a 6 cyl engine they could all be called speed 6 so it's not used..
the Tuscan you refer to is just a Tuscan, then they go up as posted before Tuscan S and Tuscan R

One of use should really speak to TVR to clarify all of this.
Putting a V12 into a Tuscan... FUN!
