Angry 2002 Venture low oil level light

After going through the infamous intake manifold gasket root canal. I noticed a week later the low oil level indicator coming on when starting the car. The first time I shut it off and checked the level. Oil was up to the mark and still clean from the flush & change from the dealer's gasket replacement. If you see the warning and shut off engine then restart it stays off until next restart. I am changing the oil today in the hopes it resolves the problem but I am not hopeful.

Has anybody had this problem and if so how did you resolve it? I might just replace the sensor but haven't a clue where it is. It also may be possible that if the wires are disconnected from it this is how it functions. No clue. Not going back to the dealer anymore for anything. After a $900 estimate to do the gasket job, they broke the positive battery post and blamed the battery for being old. They over tightened it.

Re: 2002 Venture low oil level light

On my 2003 Montana, the oil level sensor is in the bottom of the pan. It extends vertically from the bottom up into the oil pan sump. The wires are pretty exposed, so if you ran over something, perhaps the wires were torn.

I'd inspect the wires to the sensor before replacing anything....Good luck, Glen
