Timing Belt replacementTexas Rodeo 06-27-2007, 04:27 PM I'm thinking of replacing the timing belt due to a possible crank sensor gone bad. My question is this, when replacing the timing belt , do you guys replace the tensioner pully as well . Is it necessary to replace the tensioner or can you just get away with replacing it with a new timing belt for a 2001 rodeo 4cylinder engine. Any detailed input would be greatly appreciated. thanks. surferfletch 06-27-2007, 11:54 PM I don't think you'll hear anybody recommend not changing the tensioner. I have the V6, though. rambo1214 08-01-2007, 11:04 PM Replace the tensioner, watch out for trying to ensure the cams stat put because once free they will want to shift on you.
