givin the dealership !@#^@#$

okay y'all,

i need a little advice about dealing with the dealership ...

here's the scoop.

About two weeks ago I took my Jimmy in to the dealer and said these exact words. "The A/C doesn't blow cold."

They called back later and said it was a leaking fitting on the high side. Only an $11 fitting. The bill read "found low on freon" ( $13), found high side fitting leaking ($11), replaced fitting and recharged system (30), labor ($105)

I told the dealership to go ahead and fix it. When I came in to pick up the truck, I asked the manager if it was holding it's pressure, he said "yes, you can take it home."

The $11 fitting seemed shady to me and so I asked, "If the truck begins to blow hot two weeks from now, is there a warranty on anything you've done today?" I got the feeling he was relying on the cooool recharge to make me happy and had not really fixed the problem.

Anyhow, he said yes, there is a one-year warranty on labor.

Now, two weeks later, it is blowing warm again.

How should I deal with this? I paid for the labor and the dye. I'd like to say, "The dye test was not done correctly because you only found/fixed one leak." "It's still leaking so clearly the labor was not done correctly."

give me some fuel for the fire folks !!!

It's friggin' hot !!!!!!!!!!1

Fuel for what fire?
You haven't taken it back or even told the dealer about the problem.
Don't go lookin fer problems, talk to them to find a solution.

yes, I told the dealership about the problem. The problem was not fixed. Their solution was not the right one.

Don't take your truck to a dealer, let alone that dealer. They never know sh%& anyway which is why they rip us off. Find a good honest mechanic in your area, you're better off.

Re: givin the dealership !@#^@#$

They should stand behind there work.
If they gave you a one year parts and labor warranty.
But you need to take it back to them so they can recheck it.
If they put leak dye in it the leak should show when the put the light on it.

I would ask them to recheck it on there dime.
It sounds like they found one leak and did not check good for anymore leaks.

When you go to a dealer you pay top dollar labor and should get top repair service by factory trained techs.
Tips on going to the dealer
Ask that only a factory trained and certified AC performance specialist work on your car.
Not all dealerships are concerned with how repairs are dispatched, and not all dealership techs bother to take advantage of the training offered by factory (the vast majority of which is paid training). If the dealer is uncooperative, ask for your money back and call around for a dealer that will accommodate you.

Good Luck and let us know how it goes.

Do exactly what MT said, you should not have to drop a dime to fix this after they touched it last. On a side note, if you ever need a recharge and want to do it yourself, Quest makes a product called Sub Zero Synthetic R134a with all the lubes and a sealer. I used it (had my cousin do it who is certified in HVAC) and I shit you not when my AC blows out at 49 degrees!!! I was shocked, and I swear on the hotter days it blows even colder. Great product.
