Well, I've just got back from an early-starting day at Goodwood. We ( My wife, son and me) got there about 7am, went straight to the main paddock and took loads of pics of #06R as there was hardly anyone there!. Then we went for a wander around the rest of the Festival, seeing a Vector , had the briefest of chats with James Glickenhaus whilst he was in his 612 P4/5 and I sneaked a few pics, Jag XJR15, Bugatti Veyron, SLR Roadster (x2), Mega Track, etc etc.
We then had a bite to eat then headed back to the main paddock as #06R was due to go up the hill at 12.35pm. I took some photos of David Clark getting ready to drive the car, and had a chance to speak to him. I asked what had happened to #06R on the Alfred Dunhill tour - after a little chuckle to himself he said he was at Le Mans and it had a small 'off' hence the rearranged front end in some of the pics from back then. I took multiple photos of the car getting prepped ready for the run up the hill, and off she went to do the run, after me snagging the chance to take some long range shots in the marshall station before they get allowed to go on the hill.
Once David had done his run, I knew he was going back to the paddock so I stationed myself in prime position for more pics. The car got pulled back into the paddock but too far, so had to be rolled forward. Unfortunately the chap with him who prepped the car had chocked the front wheels, so the car couldn't move forward. I was (quickly) in the position to remove the chock, replaced it once #06R was in the rightplace, and was given a 'Thank You' from David Clark for helping out. Sad I know, but it made my day!!
There were BMW tradition trucks behind the main paddock, and I believe #047 is kept by them, along with #17R?....(feel free to correct me if i'm wrong)
I may NOT miss it as I drive especially from Holland tomorrow!
please respond within one hour:-)
I will try to find out the chassis number tomorrow.
might not be easy cause the car isnt situated that well to have a clear shot of the chassisplaque:(

Great photos, and I see the Harrods car has it's sponsors back on, completing the livery, I wonder if this is temporary or not...

I didn't take those pictures. I only found them by searching on FlickR. You could probably sign up on FlickR and contact the photographer in that link and ask.
Greg, how could you miss the BMW pavilion :banghead: I had a wander round the inner track; Thomas was asleep in his pushchair and I was chatting away to the wife and only briefly took notice of what was there - I was mainly looking for a Cars International tent / Ten Tenths Tent, and didn't do any large motor company pavillions, but I know, I know...... :banghead: :grinno:
I,ve got plenty of pics for you, inc the chassis plate. Will post them tomorrow.
Cheers Le Man
Bit short on time at mo :runaround: ....will try to post more pics of 047 later.

From what I have seen of the road converted GTR's I have seen the key is used to turn on the power to the ignition after the master switch has been activated, the starter is then activated by a sprung switch or push button.
No doubt our GTR owners will confirm or possibly expand on this, maybe even prove me wrong as no doubt there will be variations depending on who did the conversion and what the customer asked for.

Pic is great (you must be Mr Tickle to get that shot from what looks like poor positioning of the car! :)), we can see the chassis plaque with its chassis # clearly!! Its been added to the chassis plaque thread (with appropriate thanks of course)
Can't wait for the other #047 shots
Does any one know why BMW quoted the output of the V12 as 602bhp?
Anyway, enjoy - theres more of that car 047 is it? and of 06R also to come

^^ I'm loving the last shot, a job well done
#047 it is - my guess further up in post 15 was confirmed by Le Man
Did you feel like turning the mirrors the right way? :naughty:
Perhaps the 25 horses it's lost were the Ferrari's it overtook on the way to the festival? ;)

I thought they had it in a bad position to be honest, it wouldve been nice to have walked around it, I guess BMW want to be ascociated with the car, but they dont want to give it pride of place because it isnt a BMW. And yes the mirrors kept niggling at me - i wanted to move them but a man in a bmw shirt was keeping a close eye on it.
Im so glad i looked around the stands, i said to my friends that i wanted to look inside the BMW stand because i had a sneaky feeling they might put an F1 on show. Ill post some more of 06R in a bit and i have a grainy video of it going infront of the house too.

Thats all folks!! (the rest of my pics are on dv tape) I hope this makes up a little, for you missing out on seeing 047 Greg. I myself, was only expecting an engine, to be on display by BMW. But this was certainly, a most welcome suprise :grinyes:.
Tak 43,s pics should be worth waiting for
Some real nice pics, you have taken tk-f1627bhp :bigthumb:
Went to see 06r today after a long drive.Got there at 7.00 but it was still covered over for a couple of hours. When it was uncovered it was worth the wait. The le-mans team boss from 95 ,Dave Price ,was having a laugh and joke with mr Clark.
Asked a chap about the livery & he said it was just on for the weekend.
Got plenty of photo's, not digital though.
One of the BMW girl's was taking photo,s in front of the silver mac,so i stepped up !.
Goodwood remains the best place to see GTR's over the years,iv'e seen about 8 i think. Would love to see LARK & Cesar car's one day.
P.S The Koenigsegg gt race version looked great, hidden away in cathedral paddock
