Ok Heres The Deal...Just So Everyone Knows This Is Not My Truck It Is A Friend Of Mines

Anyhow He Has A 2001 F-150 Crewcab Shortbed 104,000. The Problem Is That The Back Breaks Are Locked. He Said That One Day He Was Driving And The Left Rear Side OF The Truck Started Makeing Some Sounds. Then The Next Day The Other Side Started Doing The Same Thing. The The Next Day He Went To Move It The Truck Would Not Move At All. He Was Able To Get It In His Garage By Putting The Truck In Four Wheel Drive. He Said The The Truck Did Not Move An Inch Until About 2500 RPM's. We Are Not Sure What The Actual Problem Is. We Are Thinking That Either The Back Breaks Are Locked Or Maybe The Axel Is Locked Up. But Odds Are The It's Rear Breaks. Also Forgot To Mention That Both Rear Calipers Were Replaced At 17,500 Miles And Again At 55,000 Miles. Rear Rotors Were Replaced At 55,000 Miles. Then At 93,000 The Rear Rotors Were Resurfaced And Had New Pads Put On. We Were Wondering If There Was Some Kind Of Recall Out There About This.

If You Are Still Reading This I Really Appreciate It.

Thanks Craig

Any Help Is Greatly Appreciated.

Re: 2001 f150

Waht about the parking brake shoes inside the rotor (rear disc brakes, right?) because this will lock a rear up.
Check the parking brake lining and also the levers that the cables hook to. Those can sieze up and lock it.
