Hi, sorry if this question was ever asked but um......how many o2 sensors does my truck have? It's a 2000 S-10 with the 4.3 V-6.

Again, sorry if this has been asked before but I didn't find anything when I did a search for this.

Thanks again for any help :iceslolan

4-5
The wiring shows 5.
But best to craw under there and count them.
How many miles on it?
Are you having any problems or codes on them?

Oh, didn't know I could see all the oxygen sensors from underneath? Okay, I'll check it out tomorrow after work then and count.

Just a wild question....would a code scanner show how many sensors I had if I put it in View Data mode?

So anyway, I have about 95,000 miles on my truck with original 02 sensors, so I thought maybe it's due to change them but do I change all 5 if I have that many? I was thinking about Denso 02 sensors? Good or bad choice?

No codes so far and no problems except for the exhaust is starting to smell a little bit like rotten eggs. Not really noticible but if the wind hits you the right way it has a slight stench.

Thanks for the help, I really do appreciate it:smile:

You should be able to see all of them but some will try to hide.
Look close.
A code reader will not show them but a scanner in data mo will give you a reading on them.
I do not know about Denso.
Dealer Oem are the best but I have used after market Bosch .
A lot of oxygen OEM sensors are Bosch
Hard to say about the sensor at 95K.
A good scanner will give you a idea on how good they are or working.
The front two right and left bank are the first and main sensors.
And at 95K-100k it is time to start replacing plugs with AC Delco plugs and a filter check and change.
If not already done.

Speaking as someone who just replaced them on his 96 (96 is not the same as a 2000 but could be). There were 4. One each in the left and right manifold (for fuel trim) and one in front of the cat and one behind the cat (to determine if the cat was working). all were visible from underneath although getting to the left manifold one connector was a b----.
