Need a little advice please. My son has an 88 classic Jimmy 4 x 4 . We changed brake pads a few weeks ago and now it seems only the left front is working. We bled all 4 brakes and still no help.
We pulled the wheeL and the brake caliper and drum were so hot you couldn't touch it. We finally got it off and shoes look new but may be some glazing on them.
When brake is applied it seems to stop the the hub to where I can't turn it but when we let off brake it seems stuck for probably 5-8 seconds before it releases.
Fluid level is fine and also it has drum brakes on the back but when I go to bleed them the peddle doe's not go to the floor like I think it should. The front ones when bled go to the floor.
Any help would be appreciated. The Brake light in the cab is on steady.
Best test is open bleeder and see if it turns free.
If so check the rubber brake hose.
If not the caliper piston or mounting slides are sticking.
If caliper piston is sticking just get a rebuilt caliper.

Hello, I have had the same problem on my 76 K-5 Blazer. If the calipers are the original equipment you may want to consider that one of the calipers has "locked up". Change both of them immediately. As they will burn up the new pads and the rotors in short order. Hope this helps you out. Lee
